Conference History

In 1984, two dozen LGBTQ elected officials came together for the first time and estimated there were no more than 50 openly LGBTQ officials in the entire world. Thirty-five years later, the International LGBTQ Leaders Conference attracts more than 500 attendees annually and is the preeminent leadership event for LGBTQ leaders looking to exchange ideas and determine legislative and policy priorities for the coming year.

The three-day conference includes plenary events, issue-based workshops, networking and an exclusive elected officials track for those leading on LGBTQ legislation and policy worldwide.
